 Time for an update of what's going on in DFE-land. First up, the picture to the left. We're excited to announce the upcoming first single from our 4th full-length DFE album "Mission Statement" will feature Sadat X of Brand Nubian. Stay tuned! Next up, to all our friends in Banff... get ready for the invasion of the DFE Cold Chillin' Party, coming on Thursday, April 11th to Wild Bills. After rockin' the house in Fernie, we're excited to bring this format that combines the acclaimed DFE live show with a DJ party featuring Cosm pumping out the dancefloor bangers. Joining us in Banff will be young Calgary phenom, AYE. DJ Cosm is continuing to spark the Calgary live hip hop scene, evidenced by the ongoing Beat Street Battles West series he has organized with True Rhythm and now with the new Calgary Hip Hop Karaoke night, being held at Commonwealth Bar & Stage. The night is co-hosted, by Cosm, Apeface and Metawon. Be sure to check out the first edition on Monday March 25th. Finally, lets get to some new music, (and 2013 will be a year where there is tons of new music). First off a brand new collaboration between DFE and Lyon, France emcee Raistlin called "The Heartbeat" that has just been released off of his new EP... peep the track below. After that, you'll see a video of Teekay flowing over a banger from German producer Rice Master Yen called "Gudrun", written, recorded and filmed all during last weekend.  YES. The long-awaited "DFE vs. DEF EP" is here!!! A free (or pay-what-you-want) EP with six fresh DFE tracks produced by Def-Chap out of Saskatoon. Guest appearances by Infinito 2017, Joanna Borromeo and DJ Reflects. Download, like, share and enjoy the EP below. Teekay has just dropped a 5-track instrumental EP, the TKTV Beat Tape. Each track samples a theme from a classic TV show, including The Cosby Show, WKRP, The Love Boat, Star Trek and Who's The Boss. Dragon Fli Empire’s DJ Cosm has teamed up with Edmonton’s one and only Touch to bring you a Canadian underground anthem. Connected is the latest single from Cosm’s producer album Time and Space, which also features appearances from Craig G, Insight (Y Society), Prince Po, Moka Only, Ghettosocks, Qwazaar, Raashan Ahmad (Crown City Rockers), Grand Analog, Miles Jones and more. Coming early 2011 on Makebelieve Records.
A new track featuring Teekay of DFE is available on Edmonton emcee Touch's latest album Alienated. "Invasion Part 2" (produced by DJ Nato) is a revisiting of the title track from Dragon Fli Empire's 2005 album which also featured Touch on the mic and DJ Nato on production. Alienated is being released by our buddies at Neferiu Records.
