Next up, to all our friends in Banff... get ready for the invasion of the DFE Cold Chillin' Party, coming on Thursday, April 11th to Wild Bills. After rockin' the house in Fernie, we're excited to bring this format that combines the acclaimed DFE live show with a DJ party featuring Cosm pumping out the dancefloor bangers. Joining us in Banff will be young Calgary phenom, AYE. DJ Cosm is continuing to spark the Calgary live hip hop scene, evidenced by the ongoing Beat Street Battles West series he has organized with True Rhythm and now with the new Calgary Hip Hop Karaoke night, being held at Commonwealth Bar & Stage. The night is co-hosted, by Cosm, Apeface and Metawon. Be sure to check out the first edition on Monday March 25th. Finally, lets get to some new music, (and 2013 will be a year where there is tons of new music). First off a brand new collaboration between DFE and Lyon, France emcee Raistlin called "The Heartbeat" that has just been released off of his new EP... peep the track below. After that, you'll see a video of Teekay flowing over a banger from German producer Rice Master Yen called "Gudrun", written, recorded and filmed all during last weekend. After months of anticipation, it's finally here! The official "Back 2 Rap" video from Time and Space sees DJ Cosm and Cam the Wizzard taking to the streets and laying the law down on some wack fools. Directed by Shaun Moskie.  DJ Cosm's solo album 'Time and Space' was named as one of the Top 5 Calgary albums of 2011 by Mike Bell of the Calgary Herald. Click HERE to read the article.
'Time and Space' graced the list alongside other renowned Calgary acts including Chad Van Gaalen and Makeshift Innocence. The article says the following about the album: "A banner year for local hip-hop was kicked off on an early high-note with the debut album from the Dragon Fli Empire spinner (a.k.a. Adam Hicks). A polished and collaborative affair, it features some of the many MCs he’s worked with and befriended during his travels, including NYC’s Prince Po, Swollen Members member Moka Only, young Calgary rapper KLH Ali and Dragon Fli partner Teekay. But while the rhymers are many and notable, it’s Cosm’s incredible skills at cutting, splicing and mixing the eclectic samples that make Time and Space such a singular and memorable musical trip."
